1. Express your intention to be a creative person.

To learn a creative approach to life is what I set for myself the most important task in working with students. A developed imagination and non-standard thinking will help you get out of any difficult life situations, and the additional development of intuition leads to the fact that you will never get into difficult situations. You can and should approach any business with creativity. And the first thing you need to do is to decide that you are on the way with all creative people to discover something new. Expand the boundaries of perception. Dream and think about what you want. If you want to learn to play musical instruments, look for musicians and music lovers. Want to learn to draw - DRAW! Draw independently or in a group, sign up for training and develop. Remember that you yourself create your own destiny.

2. Look at the world through the eyes of an artist.

To notice the beautiful is the ability not only of artists, but also of all people.

Learn to look at the world around you and "grab" what you like. Give yourself a task (setting) - to notice beauty.

When I don't have the opportunity to admire color in the autumn-winter period, I admire shapes or lines. You can enjoy various forms of trees. All of them are beautiful in their own way, but some have a particularly harmonious and beautiful shape of crowns, interesting bends of branches, unique texture of trunks. I have favorite trees everywhere I go. And you? Look around more carefully.

3. Set a goal.

Before you start work, think for a minute about what goal you are pursuing. One of the rules of success in any business is: "First thoughts, then actions!". After all, in order to swim to the right shore, you need to know the direction of movement. Purpose is the wind that blows the sails. Forward! To new achievements!

Your goal doesn't have to be high. "To create a masterpiece!!!" is commendable and deserves respect. You should realistically approach your capabilities, not underestimate them, but just start with simpler goals, and then you can gradually move on to creating masterpieces.

First, I offer my students the following goals:

• I am looking for my crippled children. I remember my daisies, hearts, curls ... (they have so many charms and your individuality).

• I draw what will come out; I invent anything (even chaos) and choose the best from it.

• I train my hand in the smoothness of lines (who needs what: one needs smoothness, another needs parallelism, and the third just needs to practice drawing straight/horizontal/vertical/lines).

• I express my mood on paper (preferably in color, but other methods are also possible) Whatever your soul desires.

• I strive for uniform shading or distribution of light and shade.

• I train my hand and eyes in symmetry.

• Playing with color. I find new shades or combinations.

4. Set priorities in everything.

It is necessary to learn to determine the importance of events and details and to adjust the amount of energy and time spent accordingly. What do I mean?

For example, if you are just training your hand in hatching parallel lines, then you should not spend a lot of time adjusting and bringing your work to perfection. The main thing is the training itself. You practice, and parallelism will come with experience.

It is also not always worth spending a lot of time on small details. Most often, it is quite good to draw the main details or simply convey the mood.

5. Analyze the result.

You need to learn how to properly analyze your works. The words "like" and "dislike" are few. Divide the work into parts. You can always find a successful section, fragment, line or point that stands in its place. Praise yourself for it. Well, if it turned out "something wrong", before you tear it up and throw it away, take another look. Try to see what exactly went wrong.

6. Don't be afraid to make mistakes.

Don't take everything too seriously. Remember that only the one who does nothing is not wrong. Accept criticism. Make fun of your mistakes. Correct them. Seeing and realizing a mistake is half way to victory.

Don't like the line - wipe it off.

You didn't like the stroke - draw a new one after it dries.

Some color is missing - add it.

Simply - decorate. Add "raisins" (gold, silver, stones, outline...).

The main thing is that it should be beautiful. You should like what you get.

7. Do not spare materials.

It always pays off.

In addition to the fact that it is desirable to purchase good paints and brushes, I strongly advise you not to limit yourself in the means of expression. You need space to spread your wings, to let your imagination fly. Before starting work, create as many shades as possible on the palette. Add different amounts of white paint to the existing colors, mix them together. Create and experiment. Expand your capabilities.

8. Check the work for balance.

Learn how to balance your compositions:

• By volume
• By brightness
• By weight
• For each color

(I will tell you more in detail at the master class “Viburnum Bush”. For those who are interested – can be viewed here...)

9. Find time.

If you decide to develop your creative abilities and learn to draw, do not stop, move in this direction. If you decide for yourself that this is your path, there will be both a teacher and time. But to get a good result, you need to try and make a lot of effort. Set aside time for your development every day. Draw while talking on the phone, during commercial breaks on TV. If there is no opportunity to draw, then do something else: fantasize, look for beauty in the surrounding space, look at colors and accumulate your impressions of them, invent names for everything that surrounds you, listen to music...

Composer and famous pianist Anton Rubinstein said: "If I don't play for one day, I notice it myself, if I don't play for two days, my friends notice it. If I don't play for three days, the public notices it."

Create beauty in your thoughts and actions, and it will certainly manifest itself in your life.

I wish you success and creative inspiration on your way!
