How to find your style

Looking for ourselves, we walk different paths, making choices every day and choosing what we like...

Where to start if you haven't found your drawing style yet?

I suggest first finding what you like the most, what your soul responds to, what makes you happy. There are a lot of pictures on the Internet. Watch and compare your feelings.

  1. Find a direction in art that you like. What is closer to you: realism or fantasies of surrealism or abstraction, etc.
  2. You have found your style - look for your author or authors, whose works do not leave you indifferent, whose paintings you want to see, look at and even buy.
  3. Determine what fascinates you the most in these works: the beauty of forms, color combinations or harmony of lines... Or maybe you like it when you can easily guess the idea, character or mood in a picture?
  4. Read the author's biography. You can even ask him to take you as a student. study Find in him those positive qualities that you lack in life and separate and do not accept those that you do not like (because violent fantasies are often a sign of mental disharmony).
  5. If possible, if he is outstanding and recognized - buy a book with his works, visit his museum to admire living works and enjoy his creativity.
  6. See all the works of your favorite author. You should fill yourself with his works and his style.
  7. Now you can try your own strength. Make a copy of your favorite work. Not necessarily very precisely. If you want to write something in your own way, write. You have the right.
  8. Next... on this foundation, write something of your own, your own.

Good luck!
